Welcome to Christ Church, Shrewsbury, New Jersey


Christ Church is an Episcopal community that welcomes all into the Household of Faith. We continually seek new ways to broaden our ministry, to renew our faith, and to serve Christ in all persons. Together we strive for justice and peace among all people and respect the dignity of every human being.

All baptized Christians are welcome to share in Holy Communion.


* The Twelve Days of Christmas Daily Devotional

What are YOU doing to observe the Twelve Days of Christmas this year? Each day from December 26th to January 6th, Deacon Kevin will provide a daily devotional based on the book Unwrapping the Gifts: The Twelve Days of Christmas by Br. Curtis Almquist. Use this for your daily devotional time, or add it as something new to prayerfully transition into the new year. You can get to the devotional by using this link.

* Christ Church Hosts Annual Meeting Sunday, Jan. 24

The 307th meeting of the Parish of Christ Church will be held Sunday, Jan. 24, 2010. There will be one service, at 9 a.m., and the meeting will be followed by a potluck luncheon in Parish Hall.



* Kevin Olds Joins Christ Church as Transitional Deacon

Kevin Olds has joined Christ Church as a transitional deacon. A native of upstate New York, he is a graduate of Drew Theological School in Madison, NJ and is pursuing a master's in sacred theology at General Theological Seminary in Manhattan, where he expects to graduate and be ordained into the priesthood in May of 2010.

A former resident chaplain at St. Luke's Hospital in Bethlehem, PA, he has planned and led mission trips to locations including New Orleans, Toronto and South Dakota, and has also been involved in the Taize Monastic Community in France.

* Celebration of the Life of Absalom Jones Feb. 14

The Diocesan Black Clergy Caucus and Union of Black Episcopalians will honor the life of Absalom Jones at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 14 at Trinity Cathedral, Trenton. Rev. Jones was the first Black person ordained in the Episcopal Church.

* Celebrating Christ Church Youth Ministries

Check out what's new in the ministries for youth and young adults! There are new events and plans for many exciting activities through the year.

* Get your SuperBowl Munchies!

The popular SuperBowl Sandwich fundraiser returns again this year for Sunday, Feb. 7. Prices are $8 for a 12-inch Italian, Turkey and Swiss and Vegetarian choices.
Prior orders are required by Jan. 31; contact the church office for more details.
Sandwich pickups are available on Saturday Feb. 6 or after services Sunday, Feb. 7.
Proceeds benefit the Girls Friendly Society.

* Wedding Bells at Christ Church!

Christ Church is beginning to make the church available for rent for private weddings.
